Got a EEE BOX b202 the other week with the intention of running xbmc live on it as a media center in my bed room, mounted behind a LCD TV.

So while setting it up I looked around found a little info on the wireless and setting it but not much about WPA/WPA2 so will write this up to help others. This should work with WPA2 and WPA and in mixed mode, if you need to use WEB for wireless there are a few sites around that help with this if I find one again will link here.

1. Get XBMC Live (http://xbmc.org/) and Burn to a CD, Boot to the CD on the eee box and install to the hard drive (here I assume you know how to install, and use ssh to be able to connect to the eee box, if you can't access the EEE BOX via a network cable you can go into safe mode and do this via command line)
2. SSH to the EEE BOX.
3. First thing you need to do is install the package wpasupplicant. To do this
   

   sudo apt-get install wpasupplicant

   This should do the trick.

4. You will need to get your wpa key, to do this you need to use the command wpa_passphrase
   

   wpa_passphrase "YOUR SSID" "YOUR WPA KEY"

5. It will print the following out you are after the psk key you will need to copy this down as it is needed later.
   

   network={
   ssid="YOUR SSID"
   #psk="YOUR KEY"
   psk=CODE WILL BE ALONG HERE
   }

6. Go to /etc/network
7. Open interfaces for editing
   

   sudo nano interface

8. Add this to the file
   

   auto ra0
   iface ra0 inet dhcp
   wpa-driver wext
   wpa-ssid "YOUR SSID"
   wpa-ap-scan 1
   wpa-proto WPA RSN
   wpa-pairwise TKIP CCMP
   wpa-group TKIP CCMP
   wpa-key-mgmt WPA-PSK
   wpa-psk "YOUR PSK KEY"

9. Save and reboot and it all should work.

This should enable you to use wireless on the EEE BOX with out any issue, if you are running DHCP it should get a IP and set everything itself.
